Do It Yourself!!
Furniture building and friendships have a lot in common. It takes intention, effort and hard work for both trades. This is a story of girls in a DIY club where they have fun while building their future. None of this is easy, but that doesn’t stop any of them. Furniture, friendships and the future – they are building it all with their own hands!

The carpentry of friendship (by Pirita)
Perhaps the first thing that is perceived after beginning to see Do It Yourself!! is its resemblance to Yuru Camp △, both in aesthetics, humor and personality. Thanks to an endearing cast, the series shows from the first chapter a love and passion for crafts that ends up sticking to the viewer.

The commitment to craftsmanship is never heavy and can be seen from interesting explanations about the process of assembling furniture, to funny disasters caused by the different characters (nobody said it was easy to assemble a wardrobe). To do this, the series uses a cast of very diverse characters that show the positive points and the difficulties of the hobby. At the same time, the series gradually reveals the personalities and motivations of each character.
In addition to the crafts and the cheerful atmosphere, Do It Yourself!! is based on a story of friendship. This story grows as the series progresses and goes from a simple series of girls doing crafts to a true story of friendship. And even though the story never reaches the level of A place beyond the universe, if it is interesting enough to have emotional moments that the viewer will remember after viewing. Perhaps the only negative point of the story is its somewhat hasty conclusion, leaving the last section of it as a happy epilogue. Still, the character interactions are so nice to watch that most viewers won’t find a problem with this.

Regarding animation, the study Pine Jam he has done an excellent job. Using a cheerful style with pastel touches, the series has fluid animation that is sometimes reminiscent of works from the studio. triggerWhat Little Witch Academia. This animation fits perfectly with the personality of the characters and perhaps its only problem is an almost imperceptible drop in quality in chapters 10 and 11. Still, this is a minor flaw that doesn’t blur the great work done by the Japanese studio.
Finally, the sound section is correct, but it does not leave a mark on the viewer like the animation or the dialogues of the characters. Even so, the dubbing actresses give each character in the series their own personality.

Do It Yourself!! does what is expected of her. It is a work full of love for crafts that will satisfy even the coldest-souled viewers. Even in a season full of interesting works, this series stands out for its optimism, warmth and love of a hobby.

Bricotaku (by Cooperlynch)
I love “chill” anime, the kind of series where you can sit quietly and let the time pass, and after each chapter they leave you with a huge smile on your face. Series in which there does not have to be big revelations, dramatic deaths or fights that take your breath away. While all of this is great, occasionally putting on the brakes and letting yourself be carried away by the small pleasures of life is what the body needs. Enjoying with your friends, discovering something new, overcoming a challenge or creating something beautiful, all this is offered to us Do It Yourself!! a lovely Bricomania otaku in which we are shown the daily life of an endearing DIY club made up of some very nice girls.

Episode by episode we see how the club is being formed, we get to know each of the characters better and, above all, we see how they are achieving their goals, honing their skills and, most importantly, their friendship. And that’s it, it doesn’t take much more to create a nice, unpretentious series that works. In addition, you learn a lot with all the crafts and objects they build, and the whole process is described in detail in a very entertaining way. As a curiosity, the series takes place in the very near future, so the contrast between technology and craftsmanship is very well implemented..
On a technical level, the series works very well, the candidness that it gives off is reinforced with somewhat cartoonish designs, quite cute. This is also reflected in the bright and cheerful color palette, and despite the already mentioned drop in quality in episodes 10 and 11, this does not detract from the final result. If we add to this a cheerful and candid opening, we would already have all the “materials” to have a magnificent series.

Do It Yourself!! It is an ideal anime to relax, disconnect, and, why say it, end up placing an order at Ikea.

Don’t hurt each other you tricksters! (by Mim Burton)
Do It Yourself!! is a comforting series for anyone (except if you are a pig).

In it, a childhood friendship evolves into a duel between the old and the new; between two schools; between two friends; between two ways of seeing the world… However, this rivalry between thoughts and schools has a wind of change: new friendships.
Our protagonist manages “with a smile on her face and kind words” to bring together different people who embody, in my opinion, childhood qualities. It could be coincidence or just something from the character design, but each one has a representative color in their hair: the shyness of dark green, the leadership of green, the cat-like curiosity of dark blue, the maturity and logic of pink and our dreamer in blue, contrasting with the purple of responsibility focused on the future.

This passage from childhood to adulthood, between the old and manual and the technological and new, is observed in every second of the anime. The study Pine Jam presents this story in an adorable and charming way, using pastel colors and fine lines that give us the feeling of calm and tranquility. turning the club DIY in a safe zone where our girls can stumble along, being free. Although from the outside it can be seen as a simple old-fashioned and moldy shed, this cabin becomes her unique place in the world, where each one can be herself and do what she really wants to do. You can cry without changing anything or pick up a hammer and get to work. As our protagonists remind us in their opening “if there is something you want right now, do it yourself!”.

Everyone knows that the world of anime is very varied. So much so that each season we find some series that we would never have imagined that someone could come up with. Do It Yourself!! is one of them, making us delve into the adventures of a DIY club in a girls’ institute. And what is the result? Well, a real gem to keep in mind.

To begin with, something that is very curious about Do It Yourself!! is that it is set in a world in which artificial intelligence and automation are much more developed than the one we currently live in, which means that the fact that there is a club in which everything is done by hand is a totally unrealistic idea. outdated. This makes some of the girls reluctant to be part of it, as is the case with Miku. However, little by little the art of crafts takes over all the protagonists, leading them to share a great passion that will also help them forge strong bonds between them.
Do It Yourself!! It is a series about DIY, yes, and this is very present and very well represented, but really it is a story that is about friendship and the bonds that can be formed when you have something in common with other people. It is an anime that is very satisfying to watch, at the same time that it is very funny. One of those that are necessary when we want to have a good time.

As for the technical section, what stands out above all else is the artistic part in general. Starting with some very nice character designs and continuing with very elaborate backgrounds, where what stands out the most is its drawing style and the great choice of color palette. All this without detracting from a great animation, as well as a soundtrack that matches perfectly with the tone of the series.
So that, Do It Yourself!! has become in its own right one of those heartwarming anime that makes watching it a joy to watch. It’s a warm place to turn to when we’ve tired of everything else. You have to see it yes or yes.
