The Magademy Awards from the digital bookstore BookLivethe Japanese manga industry’s first award to honor characters as if they were real actors, returns for the second year to highlight the best of 2022 in six categories: Best Leading Actor, Best Leading Actress, Best Supporting Actor, Best Supporting Actress, Special Jury Award and the new category of Best New Actor.
The nominees for the top four categories were decided through an online fan vote that took place between December 12 and January 4, resulting in the following, that will be evaluated by a professional jury, and whose winners will be announced on March 15:
Best Leading Actor
- Yoichi Isagi from “Blue Lock“.
- Sunraku, from “Shangri-La Frontier“.
- Hoshi-sensei from “Onna no Sono no Hoshi“.
- Dai Miyamoto, from “Blue Giant“.
- Akito Yamada from “Loving Yamada at Lv999!“.
Best Leading Actress
- Mitsumi Iwakura from “Skip and Loafer“.
- Marin Kitagawa of “Sono Bisque Doll wa Koi wo Suru“.
- Hitori Gotō, from “Bocchi the Rock!“.
- Maomao from “Kusuriya no Hitorigoto (The Apothecary Diaries)”.
- Inori Yuitsuka, from “Medalists“.
Best Supporting Actor
- Haku from “Akatsuki no Yona (Yona of the Dawn)”
- Meguru Bachira from “Blue Lock“.
- Chifuyu Matsuno from “Tokyo Revengers“.
Best Supporting Actress
- Ai Haibara from “Detective Conan“.
- Fern from “Sousou no Frieren (Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End)”.
- Raika from “Mystery to Iu nakare (Don’t Call It Mystery)”.
Reviewing the results for the first edition of these awards, which were awarded for the first time in 2021, we note the following awards: [Mejor Actor Protagonista] Totonou Kuno’s Mystery to Iu nakare; [Mejor Actriz Protagonista] I swam Akatsuki no Yona; [Mejor Actor Secundario] Manjiro Sano of Tokyo Revengers; and [Mejor Actriz Secundaria] Shinobu Wakamiya’s chihayafuru.
