Eiichiro Oda, creator of One Piece, has participated in Jump Festa 2023 where he has revealed new information about Netflix’s live action, in which he is heavily involved.

In recent years, various platforms such as Netflix and other studios have begun to produce adaptations of famous anime such as Cowboy Bebop, Death Note, among others, but most of them, if not all of them, have turned out to be failures and a disappointment for fans of the manga and anime. When the project was presented to the public a few years ago, many fans of the story created by Eiichiro Oda began to express their displeasure at the news. Although it is true that the first conceptual arts and images of the set calmed the waters a bit, the project maintains low expectations among fans.

During the recent Jump Party 2023the creator of the famous anime, Eiichiro Odawho is heavily involved in the Netflix project, wanted to convey his excitement for the project to anime fans, explaining that “We are reviewing the drafts of the first season. There was a lot going on behind the scenes, but the truth is, I’m the one who cares the most in the world about this going right… But it’s really amazing!”

What do we know about the project?

To this day we know very few details of the adaptation that Netflix is ​​preparing, not even an approximate release date. What we do know is that the series will be produced by Oda himself, and created by Tomorrow Studios, who were in charge of making series like Cowboy Bebop (Live Action). The series will have a minimum of 10 episodes, all written by Agents of SHIELD screenwriter and Luke Cage, matt owens.
