Eyeshield 21 will have a surprise for its anniversary
During the conference held at the IBDF Angoulême 2023, Riichiro Inagaki will reveal a surprise related to Eyeshield 21 for his 21st anniversary during the conference of Glenat Manga. At the moment, he has not given more details, although he suggests that the mangaka will also participate in it. Yusuke Murata.
Ramen for Two is present at the event in the French city, so we will give you more details about this and other announcements of interest through our social networks.
Riichiro Inagaki is a mangaka originally from Tokyo, during his stay in high school he was attracted to manga after reading Michi Manga, autobiographical work of the duo Fujiko F.Fujio. Later in 1994, still in high school, she participated in the Koshien Manga. She also chained jobs as an assistant as well as in animated productions.
However, all this changed with the publication of Eyeshield 21. Inagaki started publishing this football manga with Yusuke Murata in the Weekly Shonen Jump of Shueisha on July 22, 2002, ending in 2009 with 37 compiled volumes. In addition, in 2005 it had an animated adaptation by the studio gallopdirected by Masayoshi Nishida and which ended in 2008 with 145 episodes.
Currently, the manga has more than 20 million of copies sold, in addition to the fact that the anime is always among the best sellers in physical format. It also contributed to increasing the popularity of American football in Japan.
In Spain, although the manga is unpublished, the anime is available in Crunchyroll Spain in original version with Spanish subtitles.
Eyeshield 21 tells the story of a boy named Sena Kobayakawa, a young man who doesn’t stand out much, on the contrary. He is often mistreated by his teammates, but he has great ability in his legs, which allows him to run at great speed. After presenting her admission exam, Sena enters Deimon High School (although later it is known that due to a lack of students they all entered despite passing or failing), along with her childhood friend Mamori Anezaki, it is at Deimon High School where He begins his adventure in the American football club, where he accidentally enters to later become eyeshield 21, the man with the speed of light in his legs and where he will fight to achieve his team’s dream: to reach the Chrismas Bowl, the most important at the institute level of Japan.
