Jujutsu Kaisen is one of the most popular battle shounen of 2020. So far it has a full first season, a movie that opens in December 2021 and a second season announced. In this article we want to introduce the characters that we discovered in the first season, with curious facts and a bit of their abilities.

Megumi Fushiguro is the deuteragonist of the Jujutsu Kaisen series . Student of the school of wizardry and direct descendant of the Zenin family. Megumi is the first character Yuji meets in the series who is connected to the world of curses and magic.

He is a quiet character, but in reality he wants to protect those people who seem kind-hearted to him. His magic ability is far above average. When he first meets Sukuna, he is immediately drawn to his power. This may be due to her lineage, as Megumi is a descendant of one of the three most important families in the world of sorcery.

In the last arc of the first season, we find out that Megumi has a sister named Tsumiki. They were extremely close and got along very well. He always had an extremely confident and reckless personality. Her character is practically unbreakable, as one of her goals is to stay true to herself. Satoru Gojo is one of the protagonists of Jujutsu Kaisen and one of the most popular Jujutsu Kaise characters . He is the official tutor to the three protagonists, and widely recognized as one of the greatest wizards in the franchise. He was formerly a student of the same school of wizardry in Tokyo.

Gojo is very confident of his abilities and knows that as a sorcerer he is one of the best. This makes him slightly arrogant, although he does behave in a childish and even ridiculous manner towards some of his students. He is the first character to use a Domain Expansion in the anime, and therefore the first to explain what power is all about and how to use it.

Many of the curses that we meet through the series fear him, and intend to kill him to gain reputation. However, when seeing Gojo face them, the difference in level between them is too denoted, where in several cases, they do not even have the opportunity to strike a single accurate blow against the sorcerer.

He does not get along with authority at school. Because he was previously a student at the same school, he refuses to listen to his superiors.

This is the reason why he defends Yuji and keeps him alive, despite higher ranking sorcerers asking him to sacrifice him. He has said on several occasions that his successors in terms of strength and power are Yuji Itadori and Megumi Fushiguro.

Ryoumen Sukuna

He is a cursed spirit known as “The King of Curses”. He is the main antagonist of the series. According to legend, in the golden age of sorcery, a thousand years ago, Sukuna was an imaginary demon. After he passed away, he became a curse, but his strength was such that his body was never completely destroyed.

Panda is one of the protagonists of the prequel, Jujutsu Kaisen: 0. A second-year student at the Tokyo school of wizardry, a classmate of Maki Zenin, Toge Inumaki, and Yuta Okkotsu. Panda is not actually human or animal, but rather a cursed body (or cursed corpse), also known as a “puppet”. He has emotions and consciousness, which is why director Masamichi Yaga considers him his best creation so far.

At the beginning of his life, Panda behaved without much of his own personality. But as he got older, he stopped communicating formally, and developed a unique sense of humor. The protagonist of the prequel, Jujutsu Kaisen: 0 . We don’t know much about him in the original saga, other than that he is on a mission abroad. What we find out about him in the movie recap is that Satoru Gojo recruited him to join the school of wizardry.

Yuta is a powerful sorcerer, but this is because since he was little he knows how to live with curses. When he was a child, his best friend, Rika Orimoto, had an accident and passed away. However, his spirit remained in the plane of mortals, and unfortunately, he was permanently tied to Yuta. This transformed her into a special grade curse, showing herself as a powerful vengeful spirit, dedicated to defending Yuta from all evil.

After beginning to educate himself in sorcery, he can channel Rika’s power into battle.

The history of Jujutsu Kaisen 0 is the reason why Jujutsu Kaisen exists in the first place. Gege Akutami, mangaka of the series, independently published the short story titled Jujutsu Kaisen: 0 and it was so successful that he wanted to publish a sequel. However, he preferred to change the protagonists of the story.

Suguru Geto

Suguro Geto is a main antagonist in the series, working directly with Mahito and Jogo to communicate with Ryoumen Sukuna and convince him to join their side. Another of his missions is to kill Gojo Satoru.

Many of the events with curses are due to their manipulation. It is unknown if it really is a human being who is a powerful sorcerer or if it is someone who is possessed. However, on several occasions the character has resisted showing himself to Gojo Satoru, to avoid being recognized. This leads us to conclude that it may be a person from your past.

Mahito

Mahito is one of the main antagonists in Jujutsu Kaisen. He is allied with Jogo and Geto, and the group seeks to eradicate humanity and replace it with cursed spirits. Mahito is shown as someone selfish and sadistic, who enjoys playing with human emotions. When he meets Junpei, a human victim of physical harassment and abuse, he establishes a connection with him until he forces him to use cursed energy.

The character is an unregistered curse, and has the equivalent power of at least three Sukuna fingers. He is much younger than Jogo, and does not have the experience that Jogo has in battle. However, his abilities put him far above his peers, as he possesses very dangerous intelligence and techniques.

In his confrontation with Nanami, he demonstrated his power, managing to deceive him and circumvent his defenses on different occasions. Later, when he confronts Nanami and Yuji, he is able to increase their powers, creating his own domain expansion.

According to Geto, Jogo’s cursed energy is almost equal to a being with 8 or 9 Sukuna fingers. Its manifestation of sorcery is through fire attacks.
