Kimetsu no Yaiba: Heading to the Training of the Pillars

It hasn’t even been a year since the Blacksmith Village arc anime of “Kimetsu no Yaiba“, and yet the work of Koyoharu Gotouge, adapted wonderfully by ufotable, now it hits again as if it were thunder. Indeed, “Kimetsu no Yaiba: Heading to the Training of the Pillars“has already been released in cinemas in Spain and, being the second preparatory film of its kind, I think there are quite a few things to say.

Why it is worth going to see Kimetsu no Yaiba: Journey to the Training of the Pillars

I think the strong points of this “Kimetsu no Yaiba” movie are quickly seen when one is in the theater:

  • First of all, the entire audiovisual spectacle that is Kimetsu no Yaiba is tremendously enhanced in a movie theater. From sound to visuals reach new heights, and at the end of the day we are talking about ufotable, a studio that is a true beast of spectacle. 🥰
  • Secondly, the obvious main attraction of this feature film is to enjoy the first chapter of the Pillars Training. The spring arc kicks off with a one-hour special picked up from the movie, and it’s definitely for what makes it worth going to the box office. 😎

Tanjiro and the rest of Pilares return to action ahead of their major return in April
  • In relation to the ‘exclusive’ premiere, the most striking thing is not only that it clearly what is seen in the manga is followed in detail of Kimetsu no Yaiba (introducing a series of topics that will end up being key in the final events of the work), but this film is responsible for add new scenes NOT seen in the original publication. 🤯
  • Stuffed? More than one may be wondering, but no, quite the opposite: it is about a way to enrich work. The Pillar Training arc is a VERY short one in manga format, and with the new scenes introduced by the anime we can not only see more unexpected action (and on top of the very good one), but also gaps are filled and everything is ‘beautified’ what surrounds the moments of the Pillars Training. 🤗

Generally, “Kimetsu no Yaiba: Path to Pillar Training” is Recommended especially if you don’t want to wait for the April premiere. But also, this time you have the extra of the new scenes, which I think really adds up and in a very good way. On the other hand, there are also reasons why one may choose to skip the movie in this case.

Why Kimetsu no Yaiba: Path to Pillar Training is NOT worth watching

In the same way that it is easy to highlight the main virtues of the new “Kimetsu no Yaiba” movie, it is also easy to do so with what is not so fantastic about it.

  • To start, The editing of the film still leaves a little to be desired, as was the case with Rumbo a la Aldea de los Herreros. It is true that in this task the task has been improved a little and no longer has the extreme sensation of seeing a simple ‘copy and paste’ of previous work. Even so, the beginning suffers from some summaries that, in the middle of 2024 and going through what will virtually be season 4 of the anime, are swallowed a little reluctantly. 😅

Things as they are: seeing a ‘recap’ in the cinema is something quite rare
  • Another great obvious is that everything new that you are going to see in Kimetsu no Yaiba: Heading to the Training of the Pillarsyou will have it streaming a little over a month later. This movie is what it is: a preview of the next anime season, and since it premieres in April, the wait is not going to be especially long if one chooses to skip the premiere. 🤔
  • The last negative thing I can comment on, and that is up to everyone’s taste, is that the movie can be made a little ‘long’. Because? Well, because to get to the new you have to see what you have already seen. Again, I have to emphasize that the end of the Blacksmiths’ Village looks incredible in a movie theater (especially the ‘Nezuko moment’), but it will be up to each person to decide if it is worth it to see all that repeated. part to get to the 1 hour special. 😶

As a last resort, Whether or not to go to the cinema to see “Kimetsu no Yaiba: Heading to the Training of the Pillars” is VERY subjective.. As a film it delivers, as the combination of the tremendous ending of the previous arc along with the introduction of the new arc is a very attractive cocktail. However, I think that a premiere of this type is weighed heavily by the very close streaming debut in April… and also with all the rest of the episodes of the Pillar Training arc. Personally, Seeing this movie in theaters seems more like a gesture of support for the franchise than a real necessity..
