Things as they are: that 2 films will be announced to narrate the end of the anime of “Haikyuu!!“instead of a season 5 is something that did not convince anyone. However, it was to be expected that if this was the path taken, At the very least we would have feature films of a much longer duration… but reality is sometimes not as one imagines it in one’s imagination.. And indeed, at least the duration of the first of the films turns out to be quite disappointing.
The news about the duration of the first Haikyuu finale movie!! They are not very encouraging
Has been SugoiBingus who has shared the information that I leave you below:
- Basically, the information that the insider brings us today is that the movie HAIKYU!! The Dumpster Battle, which is in fact the title of the first of the two confirmed feature films, It runs for a total of 1 hour and 24 minutes. 😅
- It is to be expected therefore that the film deals in a unique and exclusive way the definitive match between Nekoma and Karasuno, something that was to be assumed simply taking into account the title of the film itself. 🤔
- Obviously this news has not sat well with Haikyuu fans AT ALL!!; because? Well basically because There are more than 100 chapters left to adapt from Haruichi Furudate’s manga, so everyone assumed that if there were only going to be 2 films, it was most likely that we would reach the minimum of 2 hours of footage in each of them. However, with the reality of the first film There are those who are beginning to fear that a lot of material will be cut. 🤨
- This is where the door opens more than ever to a leak which originally arrived during the month of July 2023, and which indicated that the end of the Haikyuu anime!! In reality it was going to have up to 3 films. To date we still have no confirmation of something like this, but with such a short first film it seems to be an increasingly viable option. 🙄
I personally haven’t read the “Haikyuu!!” manga, so obviously I can’t give as accurate an opinion as those who did follow Furudate-sensei’s original publication. However, I think it would be It’s a shame that with the magnificent journey that this adaptation has had, the ending of the anime is below what the franchise deserves. I’ve been thinking for a while now that IPs like “Shingeki no Kyojin” or “Kimetsu no Yaiba” are starting to make ‘strange’ use of long OVAs and movies, and really “Haikyuu!!” It seems to me that he is in the same boat today.
