It is a remastering, which includes a multitude of new features, of the title created by Keita Takahashi and which will be available next June 2nd for Playstation 4, playstation 5, xbox-series, nintendoswitch and pc. However, users of the Nintendo console can already enjoy a sample of the title from the next February 20th.
bandai namco has presented the game as “a faithful reproduction from the original 2005 work, but with a modern twist.” We Love Katamari REROLL+ Royal Reverie includes five new challenges and collectibles starring a young man King of All Cosmosa character where players can learn their origins.
New modes will include a Eternal mode where players will not have any type of limitation when it comes to attaching objects to their katamari. In this way, they can be rolling all the time without anything preventing the contrary.
In addition, as a faithful reflection of the current times, the video game will include a selfie mode. In it, players will be able to take photos, as well as collect stickers of iconic characters from namco. And the more photos they take, they will be able to unlock new frames and filters for the photos.
On a technical level, players will also be offered the possibility of selecting their favorite playlists, as well as assign topics to specific levels. Navigation around the stage has also been improved, making the title easier to access for new players.
In this way, one of the titles that caused a sensation in the early 2000s will return to the present day. In 2004, it was released in Japan Katamari Damacy exclusively for Playstation 2. Although the title later reached the West, it did not land in Europe. But due to its success, its sequels did arrive, as well as to the different platforms of the market. The first that saw the light in Europe was We ♥ Katamari in February 2006 for Playstation 2.
Designed by Keita Takahashi and published by namco, the title puts the player in the shoes of a little prince who must rebuild the cosmos after being accidentally destroyed by his father. For this, he will have a katamaria sticky ball that the player will have to roll through different scenarios, adhering all kinds of objects until it reaches the size necessary for the ball to become a star.
